Plebeu AR

Hi Alain!
I was here scratching my head about the Plebeus´s picture and I remembered that the Alter Real Stud itself must have the picture of this horse. I’m almost certain that they must have all their horses’ pictures. Have you already contacted them? If not, I can try and call them about that if you want. Please let me know.

Bad news!
OK.. I did call the Alter Real Stud, and guess what... they don´t ususally take pictures of the horses to identification... only the Veterinary drawing (resenho)... so they don´t have it. They even looked at their postcard collection to see if maybe he was one of the horses, but none of them was Plebeu.
They also told me that he passed away at 22-02-1989.
I find really strange that they don´t take pictures of the horses now that the digital cameras are so affordable and easy to use. In the 80´s the time´s where different... but now?!!!

I´m wondering that they even had a look at the postcards , it´s very nice.
But 17 years old that´s not very old... 2 of my mares are 16 now...
And identification is made by DNA test nowaday, not with pictures, but that´s OK
In France you often don´t get standard info by calling...or you have to pay for it..if this is progress and technology..??!!
In Portugal you have, even not actualized, access to the online Lusitano Stud book. It´s very interesting and helpfull for breeders.
I hoped somebody used this stallion in his Haras and had a personnal opinion about him. I know in Holland Germany and France a few people that do breed Alter Real lines, they all have a lot of Plebeu blood. So I thought he is famous a many people are having infos.
Maybe some specialist will read this topic
Have a nice day all of you.... and thanks a lot

Hello Alain!
I belive I have heared of that stalion but as he died queit sometime ago it will be very dificult to get some pictures of him, i can see if I can get some photos of other family of his.
About inbreeding, i belive a littel to be good, but it is not advesible between direct family like broter and sisters, father and off-spring... But if you have a horse with high inbreding percenteg it is very interesting to then get a horse from very difrent blood lines and cross it ,cause then you will get the best from both bloodlines. There are some very famous horses bred that way like Nilo, novlheiro and opus-72.
About having fotos registracion, last week a got a lusa stalion aproved and all of the stalions that were aproved had their hight taken and 3 photos side, front and back.
It is nice to know that there are lots of luso fans out side of portugal.
Jokas

Hi Alain,
Dont know if you´re still looking for a Pebleu pictures... but I just found one.
You have a picture of him in the book published last here about the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. Is a small picture on the rigth side of one of the inicial pages of the boos... the subtitle says Plebeu, and is the AR one for sure.
The book I´m talking is a portugeses edition only and you can see it in the "Loja online" (online shop) here on the Cavalonet site!
Hope that helps.
